Founded by textile designer June Swindell, salt. is a contemporary design practice creating award winning beautiful fabrics.

Texture at the window allows your eye to travel through, or simply settle upon the aesthetic beauty. Why have a plain semi-sheer or sheer when you can have a beautiful texture that filters light into a space?
salt. is known for its progressive approach to textile design and application, including the innovative use of materials.
salt. fabrics are designed with light in mind, which is why they are perfect for window treatments and dividing spaces in commercial, retail and residential schemes.
salt. has a genuine environmental commitment. The custom nature of our business and the use of natural fibres for weaving reflects the desire of our clients to invest in durable rather than disposable products.
the process.
Proudly woven in the UK, all salt. fabrics are made to order. This reduces both cost and waste, and allows us to adjust any aspect of a design without impacting lead times.
Fabrics in our core collection are built around four designs. Each design can be customised to create different textures and opacity. Choose an existing fibre composition and colourway from our samples, or share details of your project and we will create a bespoke set of wrappings to fit your space and scheme. Wrappings help to demonstrate the final design prior to production. Our minimum order for all fabrics is 7 metres.
installation.
salt. fabrics can be unlined, lined or interlined and FR treated when applicable. They can be applied to existing hardware and easily retro-fitted.
Alternatively we can weave with FR yarns to cut out this chemical process and further waste. (Applicable on commercial projects only).
We leave these decisions to you and simply deliver straight to your preferred workroom, allowing you to stay in full control of your project. If you need assistance with final treatments and installation then we have some fabulous workrooms to recommend.

With over 25 years experience, salt. has consulted on many products and projects from niche domestic interiors to larger corporate fabrication. Design, collection coordination, production, project management, exhibition curation, we’ve done it all and would love to share this knowledge with you.

plan your next project.
We are based in the south east of England and work with clients around the world. Our production lead times vary depending on your design requirements. Because we produce locally in the UK our manufacturing times are minimal and continuous, your fabric may go in right away if a run of that design is imminent.
Call or email to chat through your brief and we will prepare a sample pack of suggested fabrics. You can order directly from these samples or discuss a set of bespoke wrappings to demonstrate different textures and colourways.
